Pop singer Justin Bieber wants his fans and followers to have faith in God’s plans, and not fear things to come.
In a post to Instagram, Bieber shared a message with his 114 million followers, from Rich Wilkerson, one of his pastors, and his friend on the topic of fear.
Wilkerson, wearing items from Bieber’s new clothing line, Drew House, shared a message at the 2019 Vous Conference about trusting in God.
“Leadership is this feeling, I’m scared but I’m trusting that I’m prepared,” the celebrity pastor said.
“The flesh is weak but the spirit is willing,” Wilkerson adds, quoting Matthew 26:41.
“What does it look like to have a spirit that is prepared and available for when God says it’s time to step out and go?” Wilkerson asks. “Although you are afraid you will remind yourself of God’s word that it’s not by might nor by power but by the spirit of God.”
“You might be scared but I got a feeling God wants to prepare you,” Wilkerson ended with.
The Vous Conference, which ran from June 13-15 in Miami, Florida, celebrated their 10th year of hosting the event, and Bieber and Hailey were in attendance.
Bieber frequently uses his platform to share encouraging messages, scripture, and commentary on his faith with his followers.
Last month, the star opened up with his followers about his struggle with anxiety and how his relationship with the Lord is getting him through it.
“Don’t stop fighting – the battle has already won,” he wrote in an Instagram post.
“Fight for what you love and who you love don’t let fear and anxiety win…God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power love and of a sound mind!” Bieber said, quoting 2 Timothy 1:7.
“I haven’t believed the truth about myself – I haven’t believed I am loved – I haven’t believed I am forgiven it’s a hard thing for me to wrap my head around. I hang my head in shame and I wallow in sadness about the people who have betrayed me,” the singer added.
Bringing the focus back to his faith, he vulnerably shared how his relationship with God has changed his life.
“Jesus has given me freedom and the pursuit of getting to know his character is never ending. God’s character never changes – he is the same yesterday now and forever. He is always good! I won’t be afraid to be vulnerable before him.. his power is made strong in our weakness. God isn’t afraid of your pain and your brokenness he actually welcomes it.”
“Come to me all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest! these are words from Jesus!” he added.
