A young boy from Georgia has been hailed as a hero after saving the life of his older sister.
Morgan Smith, 20 was standing on the steps of the family pool when, suddenly, she began to struggle with her vision. Suddenly, Smith started experiencing a seizure, and fell backwards into the water.
Seven-year-old Aiden McCullough saw it all happen, and was terrified that he was going to lose his big sister.,
“I was thinking like, ‘Oh my God. Oh My God. She’s going to die,’” Aiden told Action News JAX.
So, he jumped into action. Lurching forward, McCullough grabbed hold of Morgan’s hair, held her head above the water and screamed for help until someone arrived.
Eventually, Morgan was lifted out of the pool — her life spared.
Now, along with recognizing that her little brother was “in the right place at the right time,” the 20-year-old said that her sibling has bolstered her belief in angels.
“I know that there are real life angels because I’m lucky enough to call him mine. I have an everyday superhero in my life,” she said.
“I think it’s amazing,” Aiden added of his quick-thinking heroics. “I will never forget it.”
“I love you and I’m so thankful for you every day,” Smith told Aiden. “You are forever my hero and every day, I’m only more thankful that I get to call you my little brother.”
Morgan added that she has been starting to take anti-seizure medication and will always be accompanied by an adult when entering the water.
