Over the past couple of years, Christian movies have become increasingly more popular, with movies like “Breakthrough,” “I Can Only Imagine,” and “War Room,” setting records.
Last year “I Can Only Imagine” shocked fan when it brought in $17.1 million during its opening weekend. Similarly, “War Room” brought in $11 million opening weekend as well.
In the coming months, “Overcomer,” “Catching Faith 2,” and “Finding Grace” are three faith-based films that the whole family can watch. They all follow different stories but circle around the theme of finding your identity in Christ and having a firm foundation in Him.
Overcomer

Overcomer follows the story of a small-town high school basketball team that faces devastation after the towns manufacturing plant closes down. John Harrison, the team’s basketball coach loses most of his players to the move and instead is asked to coach cross-country.
The film follows a journey of uncertainty, as characters are forced to decide whether or not they are finding their identity in their abilities, or in God.
The film was produced by the Kendrick brothers who also filmed “Fireproof,” “Courageous,” and “War Room.” The Christian drama features Alex Kendrick from “Fireproof” and “Courageous, alongside Priscilla Shirer from “War Room” and “I Can Only Imagine,” and Shari Rigby from “October Baby” and “Wildflower.”
Catching Faith 2

“Catching Faith 2” shares the story of a family that faces a series of unfortunate circumstances that cause their lives to be overturned, and their faith shakey.
“Only with the support of friends and the guiding grace of their faith can the Taylors find the strength to cope with the tidal wave of drama and tragedy that is rolling over their lives,” the film description reads.
The film, directed by John K.D. Graham stars Bill Engvall, Garrett Westton, and Lauren Chavez-Myers.
Finding Grace

“Finding Grace” follows the story of a family who is left devastated after the mom abandons them. It’s a story of faith, grace, and second chances.
After she is arrested, and sentenced to 100 hours of community service, Alaska Rose finds herself making friends with an elderly woman at a nursing home. Little does she know the impact this woman will have on her and her families life.
The film is written and directed by Warren Fast, and stars Erin Gray, David Keith, Bo Svenson, and Paris Warner.
