Kellogg’s has launched an LGBTQ-themed cereal called “All Together.”
The goal of the new, special edition box — which blends together Corn Flakes, Froot Loops, Frosted Flakes, Frosted Mini Wheats, Raisin Bran, and Rice Krispies — is to promote diversity and acceptance “no matter who you love.”
“It’s a symbol of acceptance no matter how you look, where you’re from or who you love,” according to the description of the $19.99 box. “We believe that all people deserve an environment where they can be their best selves.”
The item was born out of a partnership with controversial LGBTQ advocacy organization GLAAD to commemorate Spirit Day, which Kellogg’s described as “the largest most visible anti-bullying campaign in the world where millions wear purple to stand up against bullying and to support a more accepting world for LGBTQ youth.”
Spirit Day was last Thursday, Oct. 17.
“At Kellogg, we are firmly committed to equality and inclusion in the workplace, marketplace and in the communities where we work and live,” Priscilla Koranteng, chief diversity officer for Kellogg’s, told Pink News. “We have long been allies and supporters of LGBTQ employees, their families and the community. For more than 100 years, Kellogg has nourished families so they can flourish and thrive, and the company continues to welcome everyone to the table.”
In addition to unveiling the cereal offering, Kellogg’s also donated $50,000 to GLAAD on Spirit Day.
