Dallas-based pastor Tony Evans is asking fellow believers to pray for supernatural intervention as his wife continues to fight her cancer diagnosis, even though chemotherapy and radiation are no longer viable treatment options.
Evans shared the news about his wife Lois’ treatment for a rare form of gallbladder cancer in a recent Instagram post.
He is specifically asking people to pray for God to “supernaturally intervene” on his wife’s behalf.
“We still have total confidence in God’s ability to supernaturally intervene and do what man is unable to do,” he said. “Our prayers are full of faith, hope, and expectancy. We would appreciate you praying with that same spirit. While we wait on our miracle, Lois is continuing with natural therapies, supplemental treatments and is surrounded 24/7 with the love of her nuclear and extended family as well as the support of our church and national ministry.”
The author and preacher also thanked those who have already been praying for him, his wife, and their family during their “fiery trial,” adding they know God “is still on the throne.”
Evans closed out his Instagram post with a reference to Ephesians 3:20-21, in which the apostle Paul wrote:
Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or image, according to His power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.
The Evans’ daughter, Priscilla Shirer, a Bible teacher and author in her own right, shared her dad’s update about her mother.
“Thank you to EVERYONE who has whispered her name in prayer,” she wrote.
