At 93 years old, he’s still making Christmas magic for little kids.
Ed Higinbotham has made 300 wooden trucks in his home-based workshop in Georges Township in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, according to KDKA-TV.
The Pennsylvania State Police posted a photo of Higinbotham with one of his wooden toy trucks. The toys will be distributed by officers with the Uniontown State Police Department to preschools and other children’s groups.
“We know he makes these handmade,” said trooper Robert Broadwater. “If you look at the bottom of the toy here, he dates them with his initials.”
Higinbothom started making the wooden toys three years ago as a hobby. It has since, though, become a personal mission to make sure every kid in his community receives a special, handmade toy for Christmas.
