A 23-year-old man is facing murder charges after allegedly forcing his pregnant girlfriend to consume several pills, while holding her at gunpoint, in order to kill the child growing inside her womb.
Jagmeet Sandhu is now facing multiple charges, among them first-degree murder.
The horrific irony, of course, is not lost on pro-lifers, who are often ridiculed for this very belief: that an unborn baby is a human life. In California it appears an unborn child’s right to live is somehow subjective, measured by the method in which it’s killed or if the mother plans to carry the baby to term.
Americans acknowledge human life is growing in the womb when someone becomes pregnant in almost every way, shape and form. A positive pregnancy test causes (most) couples to react with joy, we celebrate gender reveals, have baby showers, and even (in some instances) acknowledge that ending a life in the womb is murder.
Yet, abortion remains a celebrated practice among a large portion of Americans today.
NBC News went on to explain the harrowing and disturbing ordeal he put his girlfriend through. He held her at gunpoint and forced her to ingest pills of an unknown origin, which ultimately led to the miscarriage and the woman losing the child. In addition to the murder charge, Sandhu faces assault, burglary, and domestic violence charges.
Apparently the prospect of fatherhood was too much for him to bear — a reaction that should not be surprising in the least considering the language prominent pro-abortion advocates use on a daily basis.
Even President Obama once remarked that he didn’t want his daughters to be “punished” with a baby if she were to unintentionally get pregnant. Actress Jameela Jamil mocked Twitter commenters who said she shouldn’t have had an abortion by bragging that killing her child helped her become a “thriving multi-millionaire” with “free time, good sleep and a wonderful career and life.”
When culture repeats the lie over and over, that a baby is going to be a stubborn roadblock to success in life, it’s no wonder so many people are afraid to become parents.
Of course, nothing could be further from the truth. Children are an absolute blessing — sometimes challenging and frustrating, if we’re being fully honest with each other — but you will be very hard-pressed to find a parent who looks on their child and regrets having them.
Such fearful reactions also betray the folly of the pro-choice position. When someone becomes pregnant, fearful reactions are all based on fears about being parents and raising children. It confirms that indeed, what is inside the womb is a human at the very early stages of development.
If it were not a human or possibly not a human, people would play a game of wait-and-see instead. “Well, congrats on the pregnancy — IF it ends up being a baby” might be a common phrase you’d hear if the pro-choice position had any merit.
Keep the young woman who was forced to go through such a horrific ordeal in your prayers, that she may find peace despite the evil actions of her former boyfriend.
