A group of quick-thinking New Yorkers have likely saved the life of a woman after she became trapped under the wheels of an SUV. Footage of the incident showed nearly a dozen people sprinting to help the stricken lady and hauling the large vehicle up in the air to free her pinned body.
The man who captured the dramatic moments on camera, Colby Roscher, recalled the shocking incident, which occurred on the Lower East Side, at Delancey and Norfolk.
“As I approached there were big crowds forming all around the intersection,” he told The New York Post. “All of a sudden everyone ran to lift the car. It all happened so fast.”
A later tweet sent by Roscher showed the woman on the ground being treated by first responders. “The woman is awake and on her phone,” he wrote.
An FDNY spokesman confirmed that the agency received a trauma call at 5:10 p.m and that a person was admitted to Bellevue Hospital. Their current condition, however, is unknown.
