Georgia State Men’s Basketball head coach Rob Lanier delivered a bit of a mini-sermon during a recent post-game press conference. They were coming off a win but have had an up and down year.
It’s an important reminder about living each moment God gives us with gratitude, being thankful for where God currently has us in life. If you don’t live with gratitude, you’ll live with regret.
“We say a prayer every game, before and after,” Lanier said. “We take a moment of silence for those less fortunate than ourselves. Because we get the opportunity to do what we love and we shouldn’t take it for granted.”
He appeared to bring this up because, as he insinuated, it can be easy to let the fight die out when your circumstances and results aren’t going the way you’d hoped.
“I don’t want these guys to regret this experience… if we go down swinging, then we go down… but when you quit, you’re going to have regret.”
But the truth is, God has you right where he wants you. A great reminder not to get caught up in where we want to be and instead make sure we’re 100% where we currently stand.
