Less than a week after endorsing President Donald Trump, TV actor Samaire Armstrong is setting her sights on Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) for “radicalizing the middle.”
Armstrong, known for her role in the Fox drama “The O.C.,” called out AOC in an Instagram video of her own posted Wednesday, rebuking the politician for suggesting Americans have to vote for Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden if they want “our democracy to live another day.” AOC went on to say voting for progressive politicians like Biden is the only way to protect “the most vulnerable people in our society who have already experienced the violent repercussions of this administration.” The lawmaker furthermore claimed those who are in the middle politically are “willing to sacrifice immigrants” and “play both sides.”
The celebrity then cut to undated footage of Black Lives Matter rioters completely destroying a police officer’s squad car as they shouted obscenities and hoisted signs the read, “F*** the police.” Armstrong also pointed to statistics showing shootings in New York City have increased by nearly 300% from one year ago.
“You know what the really sad part is?” asked Armstrong. “She so obviously doesn’t believe what she’s saying and there are so many people who sincerely hang on to what she says, as if it’s anything but garbage. This is fear and manipulation and guilting people into this idea that you’re not the people responsible for the rioting and the 300% increase in crime.”
Armstrong then unloaded on “white anarchist, anti-fascist morons” for “going into communities, causing a pushback on police and making these people even more vulnerable before they’ve created a problem to get there in the first place.”
At the end of her video, AOC told viewers they can’t relax. She said, “We’re not going back to brunch, that’s not happening,” suggesting everything now has to be political.
“Why? Why can’t we go back to brunch?” asserted Armstrong. “I’ve literally had brunch like once in five years. I don’t even get to do that anymore? Why? We’re not allowed to return to normalcy? We’re not allowed to have life again — joy, happiness, freedom? Why are we living in this existence that you find comforting that is clearly so … just wretched. This isn’t life. This is not America. This is your warped perception of some victimhood, communist socialism, elitist dictatorship by people who don’t have brains.”
“We’ve gotta go back to normalcy,” she continued. “Something beautiful, something American. And by the way, American is immigrants. American is diversity. People fight to get here, to live here, to be here, to exist in this type of freedom that doesn’t happen anywhere else in the world. It’s mind-boggling how lucky so many of us are and how many of us are taking it for granted.”
Armstrong ended her video by encouraging her viewers to support law enforcement and to stand up to the progressive “mob” by voicing their dissent.
