Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) isn’t respecting God’s pronouns.
During a Saturday interview with MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace, Swalwell — one of the House impeachment managers for the Democrats’ second attempt to convict now-former President Donald Trump — referred to God using female pronouns.
“We could have called God herself and the Republicans weren’t going to be willing to convict [Trump],” he said. “So we’re proud of the case we put forward.”

The Democrats ultimately failed to convict Trump as he was acquitted for a second time. The final vote tally was 57 guilty to 43 not guilty. A two-thirds majority was required to convict the former president.
Seven Republicans — Sens. Richard Burr (N.C.), Bill Cassidy (La.), Susan Collins (Maine), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), Mitt Romney (Utah), Ben Sasse (Neb.), and Pat Toomey (Penn.) — voted in favor of convicting Trump.
Now, back to Swalwell’s theological misgendering.
God is, of course, a spiritual being unbound by the physical attributes of His creation. So, in that sense, He is neither male nor female in that way. However, God does possess the characteristics of personhood, and He chose to reveal Himself in human form through His Son, Jesus, who is male.
While it’s undeniable God — even as we do — exhibits both feminine and masculine attributes, the Bible contains around 170 references to God as “Father.” And Jesus always referred to God as His “Heavenly Father.”
Swalwell’s comments come as the left is increasingly embracing the LGBT agenda to “respect” everyone’s “preferred pronouns,” depending on how they identify.
At the beginning of his term in office, President Joe Biden signed an executive order allowing transgender females, biological males who identify as females, to participate in female sports teams, apply for women’s scholarships, and access ladies’ locker rooms and restrooms — a policy sure to have dangerous and discriminatory results.
Biden also added “gender-neutral pronouns” to the White House website. So, for those seeking to contact the government, they can now identify themselves as “non-binary” or select “gender-neutral pronouns” like “Mx.” or “they/them.”
So the least Swalwell could do is respect the pronouns for God used in Scripture.
