Professional golfer Tiger Woods was hospitalized Tuesday morning following “a roll-over collision” involving a single car. The extent of his injuries are not yet clear.
“Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California, where he suffered multiple leg injuries,” Woods’ agent Mark Steinberg told Golf Digest’s Daniel Rapaport. “He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support.”
An NBC News affiliate in Los Angeles captured the scene of Woods’ wreck:
The golfer was in Los Angeles hosting the 2021 Genesis Invitational. He was spotted playing golf Monday with David Spade.
“Golf lesson with this guy today,” tweeted Spade. “And you know what? He’s not bad. … He picks things up very quickly.”
The Los Angeles County Fire Department described Woods’ injures as “moderate to critical.” The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash.
Woods’ vehicle sustained “major damage” following the collision, which occurred a little after 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Please be in prayer for Woods and the medical professionals caring for him.
