Experts with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Tuesday when and where fully vaccinated Americans do and do not need to wear masks.
According to new guidelines, people who have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccination can “start doing many things that you had stopped doing because of the pandemic.” There are, however, rules on whether vaccinated people should still wear masks.

The CDC released the below chart, which states fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear masks outdoors, except during “a crowded, outdoor event, like a live performance, parade, or sports event.”
Fully vaccinated Americans are still encouraged to always wear masks when inside public venues.
But there is some good news.
The CDC’s updated guidance states fully vaccinated people can safely resume a great deal of normal activities, like gathering indoors — without masks or distancing — with other fully vaccinated people. The organization also stated vaccinated Americans “can gather indoors with unvaccinated people of any age from one other household.”
Vaccinated people who are traveling no longer need to get tested for COVID-19 before or after traveling, nor do they need to self-quarantine after a trip. The CDC did, though, state that vaccinated Americans returning from an international trip should still get tested for COVID-19 three to five days after returning to the U.S.

Americans vaccinated against COVID-19 do not need to be tested or isolate themselves after being exposed to someone who has tested positive for the virus.
Those who live in a group setting, however, “should still stay away from others for 14 days and get tested, even if you don’t have symptoms.”
Anything else?
CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky announced Tuesday during a briefing on the pandemic that fully vaccinated Americans can now safely attending full-capacity worship services as long as they wear masks.
“As we gather more and more data on the real-world efficacy of vaccines, we know that masked, fully vaccinated people can safely attend worship services inside,” she said, adding that they can also go to restaurants and “even participate in an indoor exercise class.”
Currently, more than 230 million Americans have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination. Nearly 100 million are fully inoculated.
