Several months after being banished from Twitter and Facebook, former President Donald Trump has launched his own personal communications platform from which he will share updates directly with his supporters.
The nascent platform, “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump,” is embedded in the politician’s eponymous website.
From the blog, Trump will be able to post thoughts, videos, and photos.
The website is powered by Campaign Nucleus, a platform developed by Trump’s former campaign manager, Brad Parscale, who designed it for “managing political campaigns and organizations,” according to Fox News.
Users who visit Trump’s site can share whatever he publishes to Facebook and Twitter, but they cannot directly engage with the former president’s posts.

“This is just a one-way communication,” an unnamed source told Fox News. “This system allows Trump to communicate with his followers.”
The new feature on his website comes more than a month after one of Trump’s advisers, Jason Miller, said the Republican would be “returning to social media in two or three months” with “his own platform” that will “completely redefine the game” and attract “tens of millions” of users.
It’s unclear if this space is part of that plan.
Trump was permanently banned from Twitter in January, just days after the riot inside the U.S. Capitol. The platform said it was removing the then-president over the “risk of further incitement of violence,” arguing Trump’s tweets contributed to the attack in Washington, D.C.
“After close review of recent tweets from the realDonaldTrump account and the context around them — specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter — we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence,” the company stated at the time.

Facebook’s “Oversight Board” announced Monday it will revealed Wednesday whether Trump’s suspension from Facebook and Instagram will be permanent.
Much like Twitter, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg moved to block Trump from his platforms “indefinitely” following the riot, saying, at the time, he believed “the risks of allowing the president to continue to use our service during this period are simply too great.”
