California-based Pastor John MacArthur said during his latest Sunday sermon kids “are defenseless” in a society “weaponized to destroy children.”
The Grace Community Church preacher said society is “systematically designed” against children, telling his congregation God will judge parents who don’t raise their kids “in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”

“What we’re facing today is fierce, I will confess, [but] of all the things that disturb me in this culture, of all the horrific, sinful, wretched, wicked, corrupt influences that go on in this culture,” MacArthur said, “I think the thing that distresses me most is the war on children.”
“This culture is weaponized to destroy children,” he added. “It’s systematically designed to do that.”
MacArthur went on to condemn the public education system, where he argued children will “come under the influence of those whose agenda is anti-God, anti-Christ, [and] anti-Scripture.”
“As you know, our country [and] the politicians who lead it are making laws that are devastating to children under the pressure of sexual freedom, homosexuality, transgenderism,” he explained. “The desire is to make that normal and to punish people who speak against it with laws in the category of hate speech. The lies of systemic racism and the race hustlers dominate the ideologies of universities and even churches.”

The 81-year-old pastor, who has come under fire for flouting COVID-19 restrictions against churches, accused social media companies and the entertainment industry of “pump[ing] out things that destroy children.”
“Children are under a relentless assault by all the forces of evil, and they are defenseless,” MacArthur said. “And we have a society and a culture that wants to make sure that those who are pumping out this destruction are free to keep doing it without restraint.”
He specifically singled out Disney, which he said creates “characters that are transgender to seduce children into accepting wickedness as normal.”
MacArthur was presumably referring to recent reports suggesting Disney’s Pixar is currently casting for an unnamed project that will feature a 14-year-old transgender character named Jess. The development comes a little more than a year after it was revealed Pixar’s “Onward” would feature the company’s first self-identified LGBT character.

The preacher said it’s “insane” for parents to give their children “gender identity options,” claiming it’s a sign children “are under assault now.”
Parents, MacArthur declared, have a duty to raise their children to oppose these cultural shifts, instead teaching them to live according to Scripture, adding God “judges when one generation fails its responsibility to pass on righteousness to the next.”
“We’re going to have to answer to [God], too, for the little ones He gives us,” he explained to churchgoers. “When they arrive, they are His, and our life commitment is to make sure that, as they grow and we influence them, they come to faith in Christ, right? That’s raising your children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”
