“The health and safety of our guests and team members have been Target’s top priority throughout the pandemic, and we’ve closely and consistently followed the CDC’s recommendations over time,” read a statement from Target. “Given the CDC’s updated guidance last week, Target will no longer require vaccinated guests and team members to wear face coverings in our stores, except where it’s required by local ordinances.”
CVS Health offered a similar update to its rules.
Starbucks updated its policy Monday to say masks will be “optional for vaccinated customers, unless local regulations require them by law.”
Other places that have dropped their masks mandates for vaccinated customers include Walmart, Costco, Trader Joe’s, and Winn-Dixie.
Both Universal and Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, dropped their mask requirements for outdoor areas, although guests will still have to wear face coverings inside and while on rides. SeaWorld updated its policy to say it will no longer require vaccinated guests to wear masks.
