The Utah chapter of the leftist Black Lives Matter movement has declared the American flag is a “symbol of hatred.”
In the July 4 post, the group also condemned those who fly the flag.
“When we Black Americans see this flag, we know the person flying it is not safe to be around,” the post read. “When we see this flag, we know the person flying it is a racist. When we see this flag, we know that the person flying it lives in a different America than we do. When we see this flag, we question your intelligence.”
“We know to avoid you,” it continued. “[The flag] is a symbol of hatred.”
The Utah chapter of the organization went on to scoff at Facebook users who took issue with the condemnation published on Independence Day.
“Welcome racists,” the group sneered in the comment section. “We know you are big mad about the racist flag post. You will not be heard here. You will be blocked and your comments will be deleted.”
The Black Lives Matter chapter said it would donate $1 to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-N.Y.) campaign “for every racist that we block.”

“We will not pledge allegiance to that flag,” the group added in another comment. “We will not stand for the national anthem. We will not respect a piece of cloth that you respect more than black lives. We will not be quiet. We will not back down.”
Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) shared a similar sentiment over the weekend.
She said Independence Day “is for white people,” adding the U.S. “is stolen land and black people still aren’t free.”
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) responded to Bush’s tweet, condemning her “hateful, divisive lies.”
