Tim Tebow reacted to the tragic death of former NFL teammate Demaryius Thomas on Friday, remembering Thomas for his overt “kindness” and the love he had for the people in his life.
“Woke up and saw the really devastating news about my teammate and friend, Demaryius Thomas,” Tebow tweeted. “So many are going to remember him for his athletic ability…but I’ll be remembering him for his kindness, his smile that would light up a room, and the love he had for those in his life.”

Tebow’s tribute came hours after Georgia police said Thomas, a former wide receiver for the Denver Broncos, among other teams, was found dead Thursday inside his home.
Initial reports and at least one family account indicate Thomas died due to a medical issue.

“Preliminary information is that his death stems from a medical issue, and our investigators currently have no reason to believe otherwise,” Roswell Police Department Public Information Officer Tim Lupo told the Associated Press.
LaTonya Bonseigneur, Thomas’ first cousin, told the AP the family believes the former wide receiver died from a seizure in the shower.
“He had been suffering from seizures for over a year,” she said. “And we believe he had a seizure when he was showering. We’re not sure when he died. We just spoke with him yesterday.”

Bonseigneur said Thomas was discovered by a friend who couldn’t reach him and went to the home to check on him.
The New York Jets, a team for which Thomas played, offered a tribute to him Friday morning.
“A brilliant career on the field with a light that always shone brighter off of it,” it read. “Gone way too soon. But your impact remains. Rest in peace, Demaryius.”
The Broncos also offered a similar tribute, noting team members are “devastated and completely heartbroken.”
