A Texas man is being hailed a hero after shooting an alleged assailant who was reportedly stabbing a female victim outside of a QuikTrip gas station Friday.
The good Samaritan reportedly jumped into action when he saw the woman being stabbed and took out his handgun to stop the potentially deadly encounter, KWTX-TV reported.

“Police officers were dispatched to the above location in reference to a stabbing that was actively happening,” reads a release from the Waco Police Department. “Initial reports indicated that a male was actively stabbing a female and was chasing her into the gas station.”
The man who intervened to help the woman cooperated with police and “was not charged with any crime.”
None of the individuals involved have been publicly identified by police, though authorities did confirm the incident was domestic.
A spokesperson for QuikTrip told Newsweek that the company places a high value on safety and will be working with authorities as the investigation progresses.
“The safety of our employees and customers are at the peak of what we do,” QuikTrip Corporate Communication Manager Aisha Jefferson-Smith told the outlet in a statement. “Our stores are monitored 24-hours a day at a central location where we can see and hear what’s going on. We are working around the clock to help law enforcement resolve the case.”
The woman, who has several stab wounds, and the alleged male assailant, who was shot at least once, were both sent to the hospital with what police described as “severe injuries.” There is no update on their conditions.
