A trained nurse and former cop rescued a man stuck inside a fiery truck at a Chick-fil-A drive-thru in Oklahoma on Feb. 8 — and just in the nick of time.
Curtis McLaughin “reacted instantly” and with extraordinary heroism when he was behind a truck that started smoking, KOTV-TV reported.

Heart-pumping video shows McLaughin bolting from his car and running to rescue victim John Price, who was struggling to exit the vehicle as flames quickly began to rage.
“All of the sudden, the smoke turned into fire,” McLaughin said, “He was struggling to get out, and I went and helped him get out of the car, and as soon as that, the car…the engine just pretty much engulfed in flames.”
The good Samaritan got Price out just in time. There’s no telling what could have happened if he didn’t jump to the rescue. He said he’s relieved he was able to help.
“People can’t be replaced,” McLaughin said.
It’s an event that left David Chen, owner of the Chick-fil-A restaurant, deeply inspired. At first, Chen didn’t know the identity of the kind man who saved a life, so he took to Tik Tok to try and find him:

Chen’s online effort was successful, and he was able to find McLaughin. The restaurant owner later told the media that he was in awe by all that unfolded.
“It was just, I think, unbelievable,” he told KOTV-TV. “When you think about just how God orchestrated all of that in the midst of all that was difficult and challenging that there was positivity that came out of that.”

Chen later invited McLaughin and Price to reunite at the restaurant over a meal and thanked the public for helping him find the good Samaritan. Watch the three meet here.
It’s a fantastic ending to a compelling and uplifting story!
