A Colorado cop risked his life and safety last Monday, heroically putting his police vehicle — and himself — in front of a speeding car to sacrificially save the lives of others.
The nail-biting situation unfolded when a wrong-way driver was spotted on I-70 around 11 p.m. According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, the situation could have been dangerous or deadly.

“The driver was headed westbound in the eastbound lanes at highway speeds and could potentially cause a collision,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.
Cops were able to stop traffic in the eastbound lanes, and numerous cars were halted as the wrong-way vehicle approached.
That’s when a 26-year-old deputy decided to take life-saving action.
“One deputy bravely put himself and his vehicle in harm’s way ahead of the stopped vehicles to intercept the incoming vehicle and allowed himself to be struck so the other vehicles would not be hit,” the statement continued. “The impact pushed both vehicles over 140 feet and into the front of a stopped semi-truck.”
An 83-year-old driver reportedly caused the incident. He was taken to the hospital for treatment after the accident with serious injuries and was cited for driving in the wrong direction and for careless driving, KCNC-TV reported.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office said the deputy’s courageous actions saved lives.
“There is no doubt that, without the deputy’s quick action and bravery, several vehicles would have been struck at high speeds, and lives would have been lost,” the statement concluded.
Pray for the elderly driver and all those involved.
