A fascinating moment unfolded during “The View” on Tuesday when lead co-host Whoopi Goldberg paused the conversation to directly ask the audience to stop booing Kellyanne Conway, the erstwhile counselor to former President Donald Trump.

The scene unfolded while Conway discussed her belief that Trump “came up short” in 2020 and didn’t win — something she said “broke her heart.”
Then, Conway made some additional proclamations that seemingly elicited boos from the audience.
“[Trump] should have won,” Conway said. “He had all these accomplishments, he’s running against a guy stuck in the basement, and you’re in the middle of a pandemic…”
As she was speaking, audible boos emerged from the audience. Rather than allow the conversation to continue unfettered, Goldberg stopped everyone and directly addressed the audience.
“Let me do something before you say something else. Listen, this is ‘The View,’ and this is her view, and she’s talking about how she feels and what she knows,” the co-host said. “Please don’t boo her.”

The conversation continued, though the pause and audience address were undoubtedly notable.
It was especially fascinating considering Goldberg’s own brush with cancel culture earlier this year.
As Faithwire previously reported, Goldberg was suspended after saying on the air in January that the Holocaust was “not about race.”
“It’s about man’s inhumanity to man — that’s what it’s about,” she said, adding that it involved “two white groups of people.” The reaction was swift, and the network subsequently punished Goldberg, who apologized. A renewed debate about cancel culture ensued, and Goldberg returned to the show the following month.
Conway appeared on “The View” Tuesday to discuss her new memoir, “Here’s the Deal.”
