Days after Brittany Aldean, wife of country crooner Jason Aldean, ignited a firestorm over an Instagram post thanking her parents for not changing her gender when she was a kid, Aldean is seemingly doubling down and launching a clothing line to benefit charity.

She released sweatshirts and T-shirts this week that read “Don’t Tread On Our Kids,” seemingly a reference to the fallout over comments she made in recent days about children and the transgender debate. Musician Chuck Wick’s wife, Kasi, joined her in the endeavor.
Aldean, 34, sparked controversy when she posted an Aug. 23 video of her in glam with the caption, “I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life.” Some saw her comments as “transphobic,” and a harsh reaction immediately ensued.
Aldean said she believes her comments were “twisted” in the aftermath but wants to use the incident for something positive.
“Instead of getting twisted about the twisting of my words, I’ve chosen to bring some good out of it,” she wrote on Instagram Tuesday. “They say ‘Don’t Tread On Our Kids’ because that’s how we feel. Leave the kids alone.”
The clothing line is being dubbed a “Barbie-inspired line” by Aldean, presumably a quip based on singer Maren Morris labeling Aldean “Insurrection Barbie” during a series of back and forths over Aldean’s initial “tomboy” post, according to Fox News.
Aldean said she will give proceeds to Operation Light Shine, a charity that works to curb human trafficking and child exploitation. The clothing is available through Friday night.
“Step out and stand up for what you believe…when you wear our newest Barbie-inspired collection!” she wrote in another caption.
As CBN’s Faithwire previously reported, Aldean’s original video, set to Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s song “Upgrade U,” shows Aldean makeup-free before a quick transition shows her decked out in makeup with a glamorous hairstyle.
Singer Cassadee Pope was among those who took aim at Aldean’s Instagram clip and caption.
“You’d think celebs with beauty brands would see the positives in including LGBTQ+ people in their messaging,” she tweeted. “But instead, here we are, hearing someone compare their ‘tomboy phase’ to someone wanting to transition. Real nice.”

Morris responded to Pope in agreement, writing, “It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie.”
But many others jumped in to like or support the message. Brittany Aldean’s husband, singer Jason Aldean, even jokingly responded on Instagram, “[I’m] glad they didn’t too, cause you and I wouldn’t have worked out.”
Brittany Aldean — who has two young children named Memphis and Navy — could have remained silent or ignored the responses, but she chose to chime in, issuing a lengthy statement pushing back on these critiques, specifically regarding the transitioning of children.
“Advocating for the genital mutilation of children under the disguise of love and calling it ‘gender-affirming care,’ is one of the worst evils,” Aldean wrote. “I will always support my children and do what I can to protect their innocence.”
She went on to lament the state of culture today and parents who fear others so much they sign on to the whims of the day.
“Some parents want to be accepted by society so badly that they’re willing to make life-altering decisions for their children who aren’t old enough to fully comprehend the consequences of those actions,” Aldean said. “Love is protecting your child until they are mature enough as an adult to make their own life decisions. … Until then, leave children alone.”
