GAC Media, led by former Hallmark Media President Bill Abbott, announced Tuesday that the Christian actor will star in and executive produce “A Christmas … Present,” a holiday movie created in association with her company, Candy Rock Entertainment.
The film is set to debut in November as part of GAC Media’s “Great American Christmas” series launching Oct. 21.
Bure took to Instagram to share the update, writing she was “so happy” about the project.
Several Christian artists and celebrities chimed in, offering congratulatory messages to the “Full House” star, including Matt Maher, Matthew West, and Danica McKellar of “The Wonder Years” and Hallmark Channel fame.
In a statement of her own, Bure said the forthcoming Christmas movie “is about slowing down enough to recognize what’s right in front of our eyes,” according to TV Line, noting the faith theme at the center of the story.
“The hustle and bustle of the Christmas season will arrive before we know it,” she added, “but it’s through the quiet moments that we hear God speak to us, directing our path to what’s most important.”
Abbott, for his part, lauded “A Christmas … Present” as “indicative of the memorable movies and family-friendly entertainment that Great American Media is looking forward to creating with Candace and the Candy Rock team.”
In April, Bure announced her burgeoning partnership with GAC Media, where she has taken on an executive role — a noteworthy position given the TV star’s ubiquity in family-focused and faith-based entertainment, particularly during the Christmas season.
After 14 years and more than two dozen films with the Hallmark Channel, the so-called “Queen of Christmas” effectively ended her relationship with the brand.
“I am constantly looking for ways that I can inspire people to live life with purpose,” she said at the time she announced her new endeavor with GAC Media. “GAC fits my brand perfectly; we share a vision of creating compelling, wholesome content for an audience who wants to watch programming for and with the whole family.”
Abbott celebrated the new partnership, noting Bure is “adored by generations of fans as one of family entertainment’s most cherished and relatable stars.”
