A good Samaritan who witnessed the ordeal allegedly saved the teenager, stopped the assault, and escorted the young woman to another subway car.
The scary ordeal occurred on a southbound 2 train as it departed the 125th Street station around 10 p.m. Sunday, WNBC-TV reported.
The alleged perpetrator followed the woman aboard before attempting to disrobe and rape her.
After the woman escaped, the individual stayed on the train until the 42nd Street station. It’s unclear where he went after that, though authorities with the New York Police Department later arrested him.

Suspect Isaiah Benjamin, 23, was detained Wednesday. Authorities are charging him with sex abuse, attempted rape, forcible touching, and public lewdness, according to WABC-TV.
Video emerged Wednesday evening of police escorting Benjamin after his arrest:
The victim went to Kings County Hospital for evaluation after the incident.
Public information hasn’t been made available about the good Samaritan who saved the woman, but that person deserves praise for helping stop a situation that could have ended in a more dire way.
Be sure to pray for the victim and all those impacted.
