After spending a little more than a week at two different hospitals, Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin has been discharged and sent home.
The football player was transferred to the Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute on Monday after being released from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, according to ESPN. Hamlin has been the center of national conversation since he collapsed on the field during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Hamlin remained in critical condition for the first few days after passing out from cardiac arrest.

The tragic accident has paved the way for moments of prayer and praise to God on national television. One ESPN analyst and former football player prayed for Hamlin during an on-air broadcast last week.
“It’s just on my heart that I want to pray for Damar Hamlin right now,” he said. “I’m going to do it out loud, I’m going to close my eyes, I’m going to bow my head, and I’m just going to pray for him.”
The 24-year-old Hamlin was flown to Buffalo on Monday, when he entered the hospital in stable condition. The team there was tasked with “identifying any possible causes of the event, potentially treat any pathology that may be found, as well as plan for his recovery, discharge, and rehabilitation.”
Before being transferred to New York, the star athlete was making incredible strides. As fans and teammates continued to pray for Hamlin, he was able to open his eyes, hold hands with his loved ones, and watch his team compete against the New England Patriots.
Doctors described the improvements he was making as “remarkable.”
Please continue to pray for Hamlin and his family as the football player continues to recover at home.
