Evangelist Nick Hall has had a front-row seat to some of the most compelling spiritual moments of the past few months, and now he’s gearing up for what might be the “most significant university outreach” in American history.

Hall spoke with CBN’s Faithwire Thursday to preview “Fill the Stadium,” a student-led, evangelistic event set to take place April 29 at Oklahoma University’s football stadium.
Tens of thousands of students will hear from Hall, Chance The Rapper, Kari Jobe, Chandler Moore, and others — and CBN News will be on the scene to cover the gathering.
With tickets quickly disappearing, “Fill the Stadium” is set to become the largest-ever university outreach, as CBN News previously reported.
It’s the latest in monumental spiritual gatherings and outpourings to unfold involving college students across America. And Hall said plans for the event were set well before the Asbury University awakening that garnered international headlines in February.
“Students reached out to us last fall, and this is a student-led effort,” he said. “What that means is — God gave a few seniors a vision and a burden that literally people have prayed for and dreamed about for decades here in Oklahoma, and I think this is true of universities across America, but they’ve said it’s time to fill the stadium.”
Watch Hall explain:
It’s the first time an event like this has been held at a university stadium, with Hall and his Pulse organization coming alongside students to help organize the effort.
“The wild thing is there’s never been an event at this stadium that’s been student-led or faith-based,” he said. “And the university said no 50 times. And, on February 8th, the day the revival broke out at Asbury, [that’s] the day the university said, ‘Yes.'”
Hall said the significance of the timeline isn’t lost on the students, who see all of these spiritual events as “interconnected.”
“This is revival, and it’s just taking on different forms now,” he said.
The event hasn’t come without its challenges. In addition to repeatedly being turned down by the university, there weren’t initially any artists participating. Still, the student organizers kept pressing on.
“Literally like 10 days before [the event], I’m talking to my board chairman about whether this should happen,” Hall said. “Ten days later, I’m talking to him, saying, ‘Well, it’s clearly supposed to happen because we’re out of tickets.'”
With speculation and debate continuing to rage over whether the faith outpouring at Asbury University — which began Feb. 8 and extended for weeks, drawing thousands of people from across the nation — is evidence of a brewing revival, Hall offered his take on the discussion.
“As humans, we are critical thinkers by nature, by experience, and by design,” he said. “And so for those that are skeptical and questioning, I just want to say, there’s space for you and that’s OK.”
Rather than getting into arguing matches and battles over whether it’s all part of a revival, he’s focused on praising the Lord for the incredible spiritual events that have been unfolding in recent months.
“Not that long ago — I’m talking like November, December — people would’ve never believed any of this,” Hall said. “The thought that a stadium is being filled by students, the thought that revival would’ve gone on for two weeks, nonstop prayer, worship, night and day, night and day.”
He continued, “I don’t know what you call that, but literally, ‘revival’ is the only word that you can even come up with. It’s not manufactured, this isn’t human design. This isn’t some good marketing ploy.”
Hall said everything that’s been witnessed — including the incredible reaction to his Saturday event — is an “unexplainable phenomenon.”
“My take on it is just to say, if God’s moving, I want to be a part of it,” he said.
Speaking specifically about Saturday’s event, Hall’s expecting a diverse group of people to show up who he said will be “encountering” and worshipping the Lord.
“And Lord willing, massive rejoicing in heaven as people are turning from death to life,” he said. “Because that’s why we’re doing this.”
