Robertson, who’s gearing up for the release of “The Blind,” a new movie about his harrowing, real-life journey out of addiction and into faith, shared Mia’s baptism story to encourage others to attend a July 2 event where they, too, can get baptized and learn more about the Gospel.
“A few summers ago, I got to baptize my granddaughter Mia,” Robertson wrote on his Facebook page. “She accepted the good news and found true freedom in Jesus.”
The photo attached to the caption shows the “Duck Dynasty” patriarch embracing his granddaughter, presumably after her profession of faith.
Robertson’s wife, Miss Kay, also posted about the touching moment on her Facebook page, expressing her joy in seeing her family’s faith legacy reach the next generation.
“This was so special,” Miss Kay wrote of the baptism. “It brings me so much joy to see my grandchildren get baptized and live their lives for Jesus.”
Both posts aimed to promote the Robertson family’s “Faith, Family, Freedom Celebration,” an event slated for July 2 at Logtown Estate in Monroe, Louisiana.
Mia’s dad, Jase Robertson, is scheduled to speak, with “good food, worship, and fireworks” on the docket, and Phil Robertson is planning to “say a prayer for our nation.”
“Jesus and freedom are always something to celebrate,” Phil Robertson concluded his post. “It’s the right way to roll.”

As CBN’s Faithwire has reported, Robertson has long inspired fans to get baptized and embrace the Gospel — and much of that effort is rooted in his own spiritual transformation.
Long before the Robertsons became household names and sparked nonstop laughs through their hit reality TV show “Duck Dynasty,” running on A&E from 2012 through 2017, Phil Robertson faced an arduous journey.
Far from the God-fearing man he is today, early on in his marriage to his wife, Kay, Phil was an alcoholic who almost imploded his life — then he found Jesus.
Now, Phil’s story of almost losing it all, embracing Christ, and later inspiring millions will be told through “The Blind.”
“Long before Phil Robertson was a reality TV star, he fell in love, started a family, and began to spiral out of control,” the synopsis reads. “‘The Blind’ shares never-before-revealed moments in Phil’s life as he seeks to conquer the shame of his past, ultimately finding redemption in an unlikely place.”
