The American Life League (ALL) released a new report through its STOPP International effort — a Planned Parenthood watchdog — finding Planned Parenthood affiliate CEOs made a total of $16.8 million in 2020, up from just over $13 million in 2015.
Figuring the Planned Parenthood average out as $317,000, ALL noted the average pay for nonprofit CEOs in America is $184,809, according to Salary.com.
Hugh Brown, executive vice president of ALL, explained why he believes the “STOPP 2023 Report on Planned Parenthood CEO Compensation” is so important.
“Planned Parenthood has been around as long as abortion has been around,” he said. “Their founder Margaret Sanger … drove the whole movement to legalize birth control. She drove the whole movement to legalize abortion. She was really at the center of the culture of death.”
Watch Brown explain the finding of his new STOPP report:
With Planned Parenthood “lauded” in culture and at the center of not just abortion rights, but also contraceptive and now “transgender ideology,” Brown said it’s essential to explore the dangers and problems he believes are perpetuated by the controversial organization.
“Planned Parenthood is painted as something that it’s not, and it’s important that we expose the truth,” Brown said. “And CEO salaries and the CEO report is something we found that people are very interested in.”
The pro-life leader said Planned Parenthood Federation of America is the parent organization, with 53 affiliates unfolding within its confines. According to Brown, each of those affiliates has CEOs and leaders who make the aforementioned average of $317,000 per year.
“It just shows you … how greedy they are,” Brown said. “If you look at all the nonprofits across America, the major nonprofits, the average salary of the founder, the leader, the CEO, the chairman is … about $180,000.”
Brown called the juxtaposition between purported average Planned Parenthood leaders’ pay and general CEO pay “outrageous,” citing the fact Planned Parenthood is a “nonprofit.”
“They profit off death, and it’s just … something that Christians need to pray about,” he said. “It’s something, as Christians, we need to be aware of, and it’s something, more importantly, we need to tell the truth to our neighbors.”
