A family is looking for the good Samaritans who recently helped pull a baby and father from a horrific car crash — an accident so scary it seems miraculous the 20-month-old only suffered a broken leg.

The terror unfolded Oct. 31, when dad Austyn Whaley and his daughter, Penny, were traveling home in Cincinnati, Ohio, from trick-or-treating, and a semi-truck hit their car.
Photos of the vehicle show a truly mangled mess — the result of an ordeal that very easily could have ended either of their lives. In fact, according to WKRC-TV, the only part of the car not destroyed was the area where Penny was sitting, amounting to what appears to be a miracle of sorts.
“It’s almost like this perfect little dome that is around her,” Libby Sandmann, Whaley’s sister, told WKRC-TV. “The whole seat just stops where her face would have been. I mean, the cable wires went through the passenger side.”
Fortunately, kind people who saw the accident rushed to the scene to get Whaley and Penny out, comforting the baby in the wake of the scary ordeal.
“[We are] just blessed to know that there were multiple people there with our family, and not leaving their side, and the reassurance to Penny,” Sandmann said. “Holding on to her and coddling her, just like her mom would be or her dad would be.”
The family is searching for the kind individuals who helped so they can express their gratitude — two people who pulled Whaley to safety and a third who cut Penny out of the vehicle.
Whaley, who sustained multiple fractures, told WKRC-TV he doesn’t remember the crash as he must have hit his head during it. Regardless, he’s grateful to be alive.
Please pray for the family as they continue to recover.
