The conservative advocacy group One Million Moms has launched a petition condemning the retail giant Target for selling LGBT-themed Christmas items, like “gay Santas” and “Pride nutcrackers.”
At the time this story was published, the petition had garnered 15,000 signatures.
“Target has made a deliberate decision to display controversial products instead of wholesome ones at Christmas — a Christian holiday,” the group stated. “This is a terrible plan on Target’s part, especially at this time of year, the season that should be the most profitable time of year for companies.”
In May, as CBN News reported, Target faced intense scrutiny — and reportedly lost billions in revenue — when it unveiled a line of LGBT-themed products, including items for those identifying as transgender.
One Millions Moms described Target’s “progressive” products as “offensive” and “completely unnecessary.”
The holiday items in question include a 10-inch fabriché “Pride Santa” designed by Kurt Adler and an LGBT-themed nutcracker figurine sold as part of Target’s in-house brand, Wondershop. Both items are adorned with rainbow paraphernalia, including the Pride flag.

“Let Target know that, as a conservative parent and consumer, you are disgusted by their recent merchandising choices,” the conservative group added. “The corporation’s leaders have failed to get the message that, when you go woke, you go broke.”
In the spring, Becket Cook, a former Hollywood set and fashion designer who used to identify as gay before becoming a Christian and abandoning that lifestyle, told CBN News there has been a coordinated effort between American corporations and the entertainment industry to normalize homosexuality.
“We’re inundated with TV shows, movies, media, social media,” he said at the time. “The 90’s was really the decade where it really took off with ‘Will and Grace,’ with ‘Sex in the City’ that had gay characters in it. After decades of that happening and being inundated with that, it’s no wonder that the culture, it’s been completely normalized in the culture.”
Cook went on to explain there is an “anti-Christian sentiment in the culture,” especially as it pertains to the transgender thread of the modern sexual revolution.
“So, one way to kind of get at Christians is to subvert God’s original design for male and female,” he said. “It’s almost like this revenge, ‘Let’s transgress as much as we can, because we hate Christians so much. We hate God.’ It’s not so much as we hate Christians, ‘We hate God so much that we’re going to be as transgressive and subversive as we possibly can.’ The trans movement among kids is the most extreme version of that.”
Target’s product choices have led thousands across the U.S. to boycott the Minneapolis-based chain.
